Common Passenger Vehicle Rescue Awareness, Operations and Technician IFSAC accredited certification testing is based on NFPA 1006 (Chapter 8), 2021 Edition. The recommended study material for the cognitive exam is, Jones and Bartlett Vehicle Rescue and Extrication: Principles and Practice, Revised Edition 2nd Edition. The cognitive exam will of consist 100 multiple-choice questions with a two-hour time limit. The skills exam will consist of 23 total skills: Awareness (5), Operations (9), and Technician (9).
Equipment Needed: Candidates are required to have PPE (structural gear or extrication suit), helmet (structural or rescue), gloves (fire or extrication) and eye protection.
